About Wear On Earth

Wear On Earth (WOE) was founded in 1978 in Potsdam, NY and for more than 30 years has proudly served the outdoor community of the North Country.  Our store stands in the heart of downtown Potsdam in a building so old they don't really know what year it was built.  Our staff has always been comprised of those who are passionate about the outdoors. Together we thrive on getting our customers outside to enjoy our beautiful wilderness in equipment that they can count on.

Now in its third generation of ownership, WOE still embodies the same values it was built upon.  Give your customer gear they can trust and a staff that exceeds expectations, and they will come back for many more adventures to come.  

Wear On Earth has always been a local business.  We will always be a local business.  You can stop in anytime and meet mom and pop, literally.  We all make sure to take time to do what we love, we didn't become retailers, bike mechanics, and ski technicians to sit at a desk all day.  We did it because we are passionate about our adventures.  We rely on the gear that we sell and we will not accept "good enough".  

Wear On Earth is about you, the customer.  It's is about bike rides in the rain, finally getting back to the car an hour after dark, and those times you just have to say no and save the summit for another day.  Anyone can sell you stuff that works "good enough" on sunny days.  Wear On Earth sells you equipment you will have for a lifetime of adventure.
