Our Rubicon Rider manages the backcountry extremes by combining a breathable soft-shell fabric (to vent high-output moisture), stay-warm-when-wet insulation (to keep you dry and mobile) and waterproof/breathable reinforcements (for storm protection). Made of supple, 2.4-oz 100% polyester ripstop, the shell has a Deluge® DWR (durable water repellent) finish to snub wind and moisture. Inside, a soft layer of compressible 150-g Thermogreen® polyester (90% recycled) insulation adds heat to icebox temperatures. Tough 2-layer panels, made of 150-denier polyester with an H2No® waterproof/breathable barrier, beef up the shoulders, elbows and bottom hem to increase storm performance and protect from abrasion.
