This wooly treasure has been one of Stitch Jones’ favorite fibers to dye since 2008.

Yarn: 100% Bluefaced Leicester Wool Superwash – fingering weight

Yardage: 437 yds (400 m)/100 g

Gauge: 9 to 10 sts = 1 inch on US 0-1 (2.00-2.25mm) needles

Machine or hand wash.
Additional Information

  • The Bluefaced Leicester is a

  • longwool breed of sheep which evolved from a breeding scheme of Robert
  • Bakewell, in Dishley, Leicestershire in the eighteenth century. First known as
  • the Dishley Leicester, and then the Hexham Leicester, because of the prevalence
  • of the breed in Northumberland, the name Bluefaced Leicester became known at
  • the beginning of the 20th century.
